Noel studied sculpture at RMIT and started his Ocean Grove stone carving studio in 1986. He is passionate about working in stone, but enjoys combining stone with other media.

His work has included major commissions in Geelong, Melbourne and the Mornington Peninsula. It has also has been exhibited in other states and in Europe.

Noel has a strong interest in water features. Using water with stone introduces another element to sculpture, with the flow of the water and the play of light on the stone and the water.

Noel likes to use Australian stone. He enjoys travelling around Australia to discover new sources, and has used stone from Tasmania through to northern Queensland and South Australia.

The current work reflects his relationship with the Australian landscape.
